Members of the Philadelphia Chapter of the ALA and Sponsoring Vendors
attended the ultimate trivia event last night
– Quizzo!
There were 10 groups of people - about 8 people to a group. The Quizzo
MC asked us the most difficult questions about things no one should know.
Our group was able to accurately answer:
Year duct tape was invented. 1942 If we were asked to list the uses
of duct tape, we would still be at Tir Na Nog.
The name of President Clinton's cat. We didn't know the dog's name.
Steve Hatch and I won baseball hats for the most smart alec responses.
I thought his dog was named Hillary and Steve thought the cat was named
Monica. Dog - Buddy. Cat - Socks.
Jason knew the 8 Nintendo games and the 4 remaining NHL teams still
battling for the Stanley Cup. We are concerned about Jason.
Every team thought that their team named more movies and their
sequels than any other team.
Many of our vendors graciously donated prizes for the winners. They
were very generous gifts including dinner at the Four Seasons (when am I
going?); Phillies tickets, American Express gift certificates - just to
name a few.
The first place winners must have a lot of time on their hands to
correctly answer some of these questions. Such as:
How old is George Clooney? Mary Zove didn't care. He's handsome -
most of us just stop there. By the way, he's 46.
How old is Kelly Clarkson? Someone had to tell me who she was. 26 How
many states border the Great Lakes. 7 What two states were the stomping
grounds for the Hatfield-McCoy feud? Kentucky & West Virginia
Everyone left learning something. I think Quizzo could qualify as an
educational event.
Stay tuned for information about the ALA Legal Expo. We are planning to
hold this event in July this year.
